Spring Has Sprung

Spring has sprung and I can feel the hay fever building! Always a joy I look forward to every year, I don’t think!

The road trip I mentioned last time was such a blast, editing and gathering favourite images has been completed, and ideas have been hatched. I went with two really special people, Lotte you will know however this time we were a trio with none other than Denis Smith, my inspiration to begin light painting all those years ago. We has such a fabulous time trekking through the Flinders Ranges over in South Australia.
For a while now I’ve been frustrated by the 52 Frames thing you know I’ve been working on. Each week they highlight just three as their favourites. And then they expand the three to be 52 picks. Now they do indicate several times that it’s not a ‘best of’ type selection, however to me they should still be inspirational or challenging to the viewer. The final straw was a selection for that top three a couple of weeks ago. It kinda made a mockery really of the effort that many people put into the challenge of the week. So I decided at that point to walk away. The challenge gave me a few valuable things though. I have a wonderful little WhatsApp group now, that communicate every week about the challenge and more. From all around the world too. I got some of that elusive mojo back and I’m shooting way more regularly again, the weekly challenge has run it’s course for me now.
